Herbs and Formulas
Chinese herbs have been used for centuries to treat specific ailments, and is documented as early as 168 BC in the manuscript “Recipes for 52 Ailments”. There are approximately 13,000 medicinals used in China, accounted for in over 100,000 medicinal recipes recorded in ancient literature.
Some of the more commonly recognized herbs used are ginseng, ginger, mushrooms, cinnamon, mint, astragalus, and salvia.
The application of a formula will vary patient to patient. Sometimes, a unique formula will be created and be changed over the course of the treatment. Other times, a prepared formula will be used.
